Another one of Jamie’s films has landed a quart of nominations at this years Canadian Leo Awards. Alexandre Aja’s film adaption of Liz Jensen’s psychological thriller, The 9th Life of Louis Drax has landed four nominations at this year’s Leo Awards being held at the Hyatt Regency in Vancouver, BC. Although Jamie himself is not nominated for an award, it’s nice to see that the film is being recognized in the Canadian Film Industry. Over the course of three days the nominations will be awarded to their respective winners and here’s hoping Louis Drax wins in all four of its nominated categories! A list of nominations for which the film is in the running for, and the dates and times of the awards, are listed below.
Saturday May 27th, 2017 – 7:30pm PST Production Design Sunday June 4th, 2017 – 7:00pm PST Best Motion Picture (Program) The best of luck to everyone who had a hand in the production and making of this thrilling and intense film. Jamie Dornan and some of his most impressive work from last year lead a pack of nominations at this years IFTA Film & Drama Awards, scheduled to take place in Dublin, Ireland on April 8. The Siege of Jadotville, a true story based on Irish UN troops in 1961 sent on a peace keeping mission in the Kongo at the height of the cold war, is nominated for an outstanding seven awards while BBC Drama The Fall, in which Dornan plays serial killer Paul Spector, is nominated for two. Jamie himself snagged the nomination for Actor in a Leading Role – Film for his portrayal of Commandant Pat Quinlan in Netflix’s Jadotville. Production, visual, score and Jadotville co-Star Jason O’Mara also received nominations, which we’ve listed below. The IFTA’s are scheduled to take place at the Round Room in the Mansion House in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday April 8th, 2017. With no word yet on whether Jamie will attend, he has in the past (and won) and we’re optimistic he will again this year. IFTA FILM & DRAMA AWARDS 2017 – NOMINEES
ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE – FILM
JAMIE DORNAN, THE SIEGE OF JADOTVILLE FEATURE FILM: DIRECTOR FILM: SCRIPTWRITER FILM: ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE – FILM: SOUND: VISUAL EFFECTS: Bow tie, check. Jamie and Millie attended the 89th Annual Academy Awards in LA on February 26 where they dazzled paparazzi, photographers and fans alike. The pair attended the Oscars where Jamie was set to present an award alongside Fifty Shades Darker co-star Dakota Johnson. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Jamie and Millie looked ravishing on the red carpet as they stepped out for a night of glitz and glamour in Los Angeles. Jamie donned a lavish ivory tuxedo and black bow tie by Hermès and sported a Drive de Cartier extra flat watch on the wrist complete with Tods shoes. Amelia looked royal in a blush gown from Emilia Wickstead’s Spring RTW 2017 collection complete with Stephen Webster Crystal Haze earstuds. The pair looked picture perfect in photographs from the red carpet as seen below. The pair really know how to dress to complement each other. Inside, Jamie and Amelia sat with Dakota Johnson, Dornan’s Fifty Shades Darker co-star. Together, they enjoyed the opening ceremony complete with musical stylings from Justin Timberlake while enjoying each others company and sharing a few laughs during the evenings elegance. Dornan and Johnson took to the stage where they presented the award for Best Production Design which was awarded to La La Land.
Jamie and Amelia then stepped out for the Vanity Fair After Oscars Party where Millie charged up her wardrobe in favour of something more sultry. While Dornan kept to his ivory white tuxedo (and we don’t mind one bit) Millie opted for a change in colour and turned heads in a luscious red Rosetta Getty cold-shoulder gown paired with Stephen Webster chandelier earrings. You can check out all the beautiful HQ pictures from the Oscars including Red Carpet, Ceremony, Press Room, Rehearsals and more by visiting the gallery. The 2017 EE BAFTAs took place on Sunday, February 12th, 2017 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK where our favourite Irishman and his real-life leading lady graced the red carpet. These two never disappoint in terms of fashion and downright making us swoon at any event they attend and the BAFTAs are no exception. With Jamie’s hand firmly holding Amelia’s, the pair stepped onto the red carpet at the 2017 EE BAFTAs where Jamie was presenting an award. Jamie looked sharp in a navy blue tuxedo by Neil Barrett complete with Tods shoes and a snazzy bowtie. He looked chic, clean and comfortable. But let’s be honest, Amelia stole the show in a S/S 2017 rainbow sequined gown with a small train by Ong Pairam. She shimmered and sparkled next to her man who’s tux complemented the dress well.
Jamie and Amelia later headed to the after party where they wrapped up the night.

It was a night celebrating the best in British Independent Film and our favourite Irishman was in attendance. Jamie Dornan and wife Amelia Warner attended the 2016 BIFA’s on Sunday in London at the Old Billingsgate Market. Dornan was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Jan Kubiš in Sean Ellis’ ‘Anthropoid.’ Dornan doesn’t need to dress to impress, especially when you’re GLAMOUR UK’s Sexiest Man of 2017, having just won the title in 2015 as well. But still, his simple wardrobe has us all swooning regardless. Dornan donned his signature style; an open breasted blue jacket with a plain white tee, dress pants and white sneakers. Perhaps he’s saving the fashion limelight for wife Amelia, who rocked a Roksanda Resort 2017 purple dress and looked lovely strutting the red carpet hand-in-hand with her beau. In a clip from BIFA’s Black Carpet, Jamie stops to chat about Anthropoid and jokes about how he’s never been invited to BIFA and that his invite to attend was only out of obligation due to his nomination. Dornan speaks highly of director Sean Ellis and co-star Cillian Murphy and talks about filming scenes in the middle of a sweltering July surrounded by fake snow. “…it was definitely a grueling shoot,” Dornan explains, as he’s dressed in heavy wool sweaters in the middle of the summer. Watch the clip below. Although Dornan didn’t win his nomination, the story of Anthropoid will stay with him (and his fans) forever. Of Jan’s character, Dornan proudly proclaims ‘I feel that Jan Kubiš is the closest character to myself that I’ve played,’ and his bro-mance with co-star Cillian Murphy has goals written all over it. Jamie doesn’t seem to be rewarded for his various works in film, although his nominations are plentiful. But that doesn’t mean he’s not brilliant in his own right. We can all collectively agree that any role he plays has depth, variety and conviction and this front row seat into his blossoming career in film has been a privilege to behold. No award today but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen tomorrow. You can find a myriad of Black Carpet and candid photos of Jamie and Amelia in our gallery by clicking the thumbnails below. |
