Best. Interview. EVER! Again! Jamie stopped by The Graham Norton Show on Friday January 19 (recorded January 18) and got comfy on his burnished orange couch next to Dame Helen Mirren and fellow Northern Irishman Liam Neeson, for his fourth guest appearance on the program which aired on BBC One. Jamie is no stranger to the show having indulged in Graham’s hilarity thrice before. And with each new time, Jamie gets more candid and somehow, even funnier than we already know and love him to be. He talked about his daughters, the smitten father that he is, upcoming movie Fifty Shades Freed – the third and final in the film franchise, an awkward fan encounter in the washroom and even told a funny story from his teenage years that had to do with the hair from a wig and his cough lower bits cough. But we’re not going to spoil it for you – it wouldn’t do the interview justice so you’ll have to watch it yourself!     Jamie gave away some behind the scenes secrets to Fifty Shades Freed, leaving fans a little disappointed that a particular scene, which is regularly shown in trailers, TV spots and advertisements alike, didn’t make the final cut. Jamie was quickly forgiven by following up the heartbroken ‘awes’ of the audience with a clip from the movie showing Christian and Ana discussing having children over dinner. So, make yourself a cup of tea, cozy up and watch it here. In less than a week, Jamie will be returning to one of his fans’ favourite talk shows and we’re crazy stoked about it! Fifty Shades Freed is less than a month away which means promo for it should be starting soon, right? RIGHT! To kick things off (from what we know of so far) Jamie will be returning as a guest on BBC’s beloved and raunchy talk show, The Graham Norton Show, for the fourth time. He’ll be among great company too – the incomparable Helen Mirren and the masterful Liam Neeson will take a seat next to Jamie on Graham’s couch. Jamie is scheduled to tape the show on Thursday January 18, while the episode will air on BBC One the next day, January 19.
The Graham Norton Show is among a favourite of Jamie’s fans; each time he’s been a guest, comedy ensues. Whether he’s demonstrating his Dornan walk from his first appearance in 2014, eating a cake of his half-naked Christian Grey self during his 2015 appearance, or vocalizing sex noises while visiting the couch in 2017, Jamie always treats us to something unique about himself or his character, and our expectations are nothing less for 2018. From what we know so far, this will be Jamie’s first interview of the year, marking the kick off of Fifty Shades Freed promotion. While we also know that he’ll be a guest on BBC Radio One (UK) sometime in February, and sit down ‘Face to Face’ with Belfast’s Eamonn Mallie, we have no confirmed date for either interview as of yet. When it comes to the Americas, past interviews conducted with Jamie include The Ellen Degeneres Show, Conan O’Brien, Live! with Kelly and (now) Ryan, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel. And although we have no idea what’s happening in terms of a Fifty Shades Freed Premiere on this side of the pond, we’re still hopeful more great interviews are to come. Fifty Shades Freed hits theatres February 9 while the world premiere has been set for Paris, France on February 6, 2018. The Graham Norton Show is always a favourite among Jamie Dornan fans, if not our most favoured. The Fifty Shades Darker star sat down on that orange, suede couch for a third time on February 10 to chat about the movie which officially premiered the same day. While Jamie told a few stories we’ve recently heard him tell in current interviews, the one about his tactics for getting through the movie’s sex scenes is our new cream of the crop. When asked about the movie, Jamie: “There’s probably more sex in it.” Graham: “More sex? Yes, Jamie doesn’t speak.” Jamie: “I make noises. I make American, accented noises. There’s some scenes where they will play music so it’s the closest we get to sort of, kind of going for it in one piece. My temptation is always just to try to make Dakota laugh so sometimes, I’ll do things when there’s a moment when I’m meant to (you know) orgasm I’ll be like (mimics Ryan Air flight jingle.) Graham: “See, people do that!” Jamie: “Which by the way, if they don’t, they should . It’s like when a Ryan Air flight, when a Ryan Air flight lands, (mimics jingle again.)” The audience was roaring as fellow guests of the show Whoopi Goldberg and Keanu Reeves animatedly engaged in the conversation. Graham’s in the corner laughing his face off as usual. It’s no surprise that Jamie would try to lighten the mood in such an intimate, awkward and baring scene. Both Jamie and Dakota’s personalities mesh well together; she’s pulled some stunts on Jamie in the past too. Jamie first appeared on The Graham Norton Show back in 2014 prior to the release of Fifty Shades of Grey. He joined Norton once again in 2015 preceding the first films premier.
