Yesterday was St. Patrick’s Day and while we’re all probably recovering from some pretty brutal hangovers, Jamie Dornan may have a few Irish terms for the way you were more than likely feeling last night.
Dornan made a cameo on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night where he sat in a bar, drinking a beer and shared some of (Northern) Ireland’s slang terms for the word ‘drunk.’ While there are some we’ve both said and heard of before, Dornan highlights some very unorthodox, potty-mouthed terms that even he has a hard time saying with a straight face. He gives up a few giggles and some pretty awesome facial expressions which make the video everything we could have asked for in celebration of Dornan’s Irish heritage.
Judging by the outfit he’s wearing, it looks as though Dornan filmed the segment when he was in LA for the Oscars (which Kimmel hosted).
Jamie spews off some pretty rough terminology and we can all, at some point, relate. We’ll be using these words in drunken stupors on Saturday nights and be the life of the party.
You can view all of Jamie’s 41 Irish Terms For Drunk – words – and his epic facial expressions in screencaps available in the gallery.
Jamie Dornan and some of his most impressive work from last year lead a pack of nominations at this years IFTA Film & Drama Awards, scheduled to take place in Dublin, Ireland on April 8.
The Siege of Jadotville, a true story based on Irish UN troops in 1961 sent on a peace keeping mission in the Kongo at the height of the cold war, is nominated for an outstanding seven awards while BBC Drama The Fall, in which Dornan plays serial killer Paul Spector, is nominated for two. Jamie himself snagged the nomination for Actor in a Leading Role – Film for his portrayal of Commandant Pat Quinlan in Netflix’s Jadotville. Production, visual, score and Jadotville co-Star Jason O’Mara also received nominations, which we’ve listed below.
The IFTA’s are scheduled to take place at the Round Room in the Mansion House in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday April 8th, 2017. With no word yet on whether Jamie will attend, he has in the past (and won) and we’re optimistic he will again this year.
