  PAGING DR. FLYNN

Finally, we have a doctor. Announced only moments ago, Hugh Dancy has been cast as Christian Grey’s therapist, Dr. John Flynn. News came via E L James’ Twitter and The Hollywood Reporter. 

Flynn plays a vital part in the trilogy as an evident role player in peeling away Christian’s layers. Christian visits Flynn post Ana breakup and has many relevations towards his future with her. Ana herself even has a one on one with the Doctor in which she grasps a deeper understanding to her Fifty Shades. 

There’s no word on when Dancy begins filming but stay tuned to the site for updates. 

ANA’S BODYGUARD

Fifty Shades Freed has added Pretty Little Liars alum Brant Daugherty to its already impressive cast. Daughtery will play Ana’s bodyguard, Luke Sawyer. It seems as though Daugherty may already be up in Canada filming scenes. He tweeted just days ago that he was off to Vancouver to pursue a new project. One can only guess that it means he’s in full blown bodyguard mode. 

WE HAVE A ROS

More new casting news comes our way today with the addition of two new cast members. Robinne Lee will play Christian’s right hand woman in the movie adaption to E L James‘ Fifty Shades Darker. Ros plays an important role as a Grey Enterprises’ executive. She accompanies Christian on a business trip, in which they take Christian’s helicopter Charlie Tango. However, disaster strikes when the helicopter catches fire and is forced to make an emergency landing. 

Robinne is quite the eclectic actress and has been in movies such as ‘Hitch’ and ‘Seven Pounds’ opposite Will Smith as well as family charmer ‘Hotel for Dogs.’

We welcome Robinne to the #FiftyFamily with open arms and can’t wait for her dramatic entrance, post Charlie Tango crash.

MRS. JONES HAS ARRIVED

Another long awaited character has finally been announced as a new member of the Fifty Shades film franchise. Fay Masterson will play the heartwarming and not-so-oblivious-to-Christian’s-sexual-fantasies, Gail Jones. Mrs. Jones is a key role player in all three of the Fifty Shades novels, but has only joined the film franchise as of now. Masterson will play Christian’s live-in housekeeper who probably knows a little more than she’d like to when it comes to Christian’s lifestyle. She mostly cooks and cleans for Christian but is sometimes privy to his Red Room in order to, ahem, clean his implements. She’s in a relationship with Christian’s main bodyguard Taylor, which we as the readers do not discover until later on in the story.

Gail is also the woman who finds Leila in Christian’s apartment after her attempted suicide. (She’s the one who calls Christian while he’s in Georgia with Ana, prompting Christian to hastily leave Ana to address the situation at home.)

Masterson’s previous work includes ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ and ‘The Man Without a Face.’ She has also lent her voice to many video game characters. Her acting career stems as far back as the late 80’s and doesn’t seem to be letting up any time soon.

MEET JACK HYDE

A long awaited character has finally been added to the Fifty Shades franchise. Eric Johnson, best known for his work in ‘The Knick’ has officially been cast as creepy, forthcoming and too-close-up-in-Ana’s-personal-space, Jack Hyde. 

Jack plays a key role in both Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed. As Ana’s new boss, Jack gets a little too close for comfort to Ana and this does not sit well with Christian. After coming on to Ana while alone with her in the office, Ana rightfully puts Jack in his place, after which Christian fires him, (since he’s recently acquired SIP, the publishing house Ana works for.) It’s this turn of events which prompts Jack to tamper with Christian’s helicopter and even kidnap his sister, Mia proving that both films will be full of action!

Eric was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1979. Not only is he a well accomplished actor, he has quite a repertoire for directing. His directorial works include a slew of box office hits. His acting however, does gains him a little more notoriety. He’s been in epic television and movie roles from Orphan Black to Supernatural, to Ginger Snaps 2 and the Canadian high school sitcom, Student Bodies. 

Fifty Shades Darker and Freed filming is set to commence in just a few short days in Vancouver, BC and will last through mid July 2016. We have all the confidence in the world that Johnson will be able to pull off the super eerie, macabre and frightening Jack Hyde. Welcome to the #FiftyFamily, Eric. 

BUILDING CHRISTIAN AND ANA’S DREAM HOME

Arielle Kebbel is the newest addition to the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, of which many new castings have been recently announced. Kebbel will play architect Gia Matteo, recommended by Elliot Grey, Christian’s brother, to help design Christian and Ana’s dream home in Fifty Shades Freed. 

Kebbel has quite a profound and eclectic acting portfolio and has done everything from Disney movies (Aquamarine) to Horror films (The Grudge 2.) She’s been in a slew of comedies including Be Cool, John Tucker Must Die, American Pie Presents: Band Camp and Vampires Suck, to name a few. She’s also well versed in Dramas including appearances on CSI, Entourage, Gilmore Girls and The Vampire Diaries.

With such an extensive acting background, we have no doubt that Kebbel will master the role of Gia, someone Ana isn’t too fond of but agrees that her architectural skills are impeccable. Welcome to the #FiftyFamily, Arielle.
