News came much to the surprise of the Fifty Shades of Grey<\/strong> fandom today that a crucial member<\/em> of the trilogy’s cast had finally been added. Bella Heathcote<\/strong> will play the strange, mentally ill and elusive Leila Williams<\/strong>, Christian Grey’s<\/strong> ex-submissive<\/em> in both Fifty Shades Darker<\/strong> and Fifty Shades Freed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Leila<\/strong> is a crucial part to the series and plays a very cryptic role. After finding a picture of her ex-dom<\/em> and his new girlfriend<\/em> at Ana’s<\/strong> graduation, Leila<\/strong> goes on the hunt for Ana<\/strong>, seeking answers as to what makes Ana<\/strong> different from Leila,<\/strong> and all the rest (of Christian’s past submissives.) As Christian<\/strong> has never publicly had a girlfriend <\/em>before, only submissives, Leila’s<\/strong> interests are piqued and she sets out on a quest to confront Ana and Christian<\/strong> – but it gets creepy along the way. She stalks Christian’s<\/strong> apartment, watches them sleep and even pulls a gun on Ana.<\/strong> It’s a crucial moment in the story that leads to Christian<\/strong> breaking down, allowing his walls to crumble<\/em> and finally letting Ana<\/strong> in. Without Leila, Christian<\/strong> may have never been forced to face his demons.<\/p>\n

Heathcote<\/strong> is a popular actress who hails from down unda, Australia<\/strong>. Her work includes Dark Shadows<\/em> opposite Johnny Depp<\/strong> and In Time<\/em> opposite Amanda Seyfried<\/strong> and Justin Timberlake<\/strong>. However, it was her work as Victoria Winters<\/strong> in Dark Shadows<\/em>\u00a0that proves she’s capable of taking on the challenging role<\/em> of Williams<\/strong>. Her glassy blue eyes<\/em> and pale, light skin<\/em> are all attributes well associated with the delusional Leila<\/strong>. Fans have taken to the news extremely well, welcoming her into the #FiftyFamily<\/em> and spreading nothing but positive feedback regarding the casting choice.<\/p>\n

Fifty Shades Darker<\/strong> and Freed<\/strong> will film simultaneously<\/em> in Vancouver, BC, Canada<\/strong> and for a few days in Paris, France<\/strong> beginning February 16th, 2016<\/strong> through mid July 2016.<\/strong> Darker<\/strong> is slated to release on February 10th, 2017<\/strong> while Freed<\/strong> will release just shy of a year later on February 9th, 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
