Ever wonder what it’s like to meet Jamie?! Does you’re heart still beat?! Do your lungs continue to fill with air?! Probably not – So we asked the lovely @ScarletteDrake about her encounter with Jamie at the Alfred Dunhill Links Pro-Am Championship on Saturday October 3rd, 2015 – and her response might just make you envy her even more!<\/span><\/p>\n

Crissy:\u00a0“Can you describe your\u00a0immediate\u00a0thoughts\/reactions\u00a0when you got your first glimpse of Jamie?”<\/strong><\/p>\n

@ScarletteDrake:<\/strong> “Well at first I wasn\u2019t entirely sure it was him because he was quite far away.\u00a0 He was alone and entering the clubhouse, signing something I think wasn\u2019t an autograph but like an attendance register as the person holding the paper looked official but I don\u2019t know.\u00a0 Anyway I just had feeling it had to be him.\u00a0 I\u2019ve stared at him so long in pictures and would like to think I\u2019d recognize him even at a distance. So my heart exploded basically when I realized that it was and I literally couldn\u2019t breathe properly as I walked towards him.”<\/em><\/div>\n

Crissy:\u00a0“Is Jamie any good at golf? Do you know anything about the sport or were you just there for Jamie?”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

@ScarletteDrake:<\/strong> “I don\u2019t mind admitting I was just there for Jamie.\u00a0 I have watched golf and I knew the rules (sort of) but I wouldn\u2019t have gone to ADL for anyone but Jamie.\u00a0 I think he is rather good, and despite what he says himself \u2013 he isn\u2019t a bad golfer.\u00a0 His swing is glorious to watch and he\u2019s extremely focused when he\u2019s playing.\u00a0 Despite the number of people (girls mainly) watching his every move and managed to remain cool, calm and collected while doing it.”\u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n

@ScarletteDrake:<\/strong> “Yes.\u00a0 When I got my pic taken I put my arm around him.\u00a0 My thoughts on that: Warm, Hard, Wool.”<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Lisa: “Can you describe your thoughts as Jamie exited the portoloo and how he looked while he was tucking in?”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

@ScareletteDrake:<\/strong> “Well we were standing at the 12th<\/sup>\u00a0hole (I think I originally said it was 16th<\/sup>\u00a0but I was wrong.\u00a0 It was 12 I think.) and there was barely anyone there just me and a few other people and we were VERY close to the tee-off point and he wasn\u2019t there.\u00a0 We were all wondering where he\u2019d gone because the other guys he was playing with were there waiting but he wasn\u2019t.\u00a0 Then we looked over and he came running out from the portaloo tucking his under-layer into his trousers.\u00a0 Me and the girl I was with just looked at each other, mouth open and tried hard not to faint.\u00a0 Then he just very casually resumed playing.\u00a0 Right after this was when I got the infamous \u201cHoly Experience\u201d rear shot.\u00a0 *Cue angels singing*” \u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Lisa: “Do you plan on returning to the ADL next year if Jamie attends again? Would you do anything or prepare differently than you did this year?”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

@ScarletteDrake:<\/strong> “I think I\u2019d go up again yes.\u00a0 If I\u2019m free and in the country then I don\u2019t see why not \u2013 it\u2019s only a few hours\u2019 drive away.\u00a0 This year was a far better experience than last year mainly because of the weather.\u00a0 Scotland isn\u2019t very forgiving weather wise for outdoor sports.\u00a0 But Saturday was an amazing day all round \u2013 sunny and dry with a light breeze. And the course (Kingsbarns) was better than the Old Course (St. Andrews) \u2013 you can get far closer to the players.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know how I\u2019d prepare differently.\u00a0 Take a packed lunch?\u00a0 I was starving.\u00a0 I\u2019d been up since 5:45 and had barely anything to eat.\u00a0\u00a0I was surviving purely on adrenaline and Jamie.”<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Lisa: “Do you have any advice for fans on how to prepare for meeting Jamie?”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

@ScarletteDrake:<\/strong> “I honestly don\u2019t.\u00a0 This wasn\u2019t my first time meeting him and I still wasn\u2019t prepared.\u00a0 He has a ridiculously debilitating effect on my body and mind.\u00a0 It\u2019s insane.\u00a0 If you\u2019re a calm person naturally you may be okay.\u00a0 I\u2019m not really.\u00a0 But how he makes you feel when you see him in the flesh isn\u2019t really something you can prepare for.\u00a0 It sounds ridiculous but it\u2019s just how it is.\u00a0 Everyone reacts differently though, I guess. But I wish I\u2019d been calmer. Sensible. Level headed.”<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Alisa: “In your own words, what would be the best description of how Jamie smells?”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

@ScareletteDrake:<\/strong> “Well unfortunately, I couldn\u2019t breathe when I was next to him.\u00a0 I could barely stand.\u00a0 So I never smelled him.\u00a0 But the woman I walked the course with (who was the woman who shouted \u201cLove you Jamie\u201d in one of my videos and who is my actual real life hero) said he smelled \u201cspicy and clean\u201d.\u00a0 Another girl suggested he smelled like Tom Ford.\u00a0 So the mystery remains.”<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Alisa:\u00a0“How was Jamie’s overall demeanor with the fans? Was he comfortable, reserved, happy to interact with them?”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

@ScareletteDrake:<\/strong>“Okay.\u00a0 This is a hard one.\u00a0 Because he is VERY gracious with fans.\u00a0 He stopped for every picture and every autograph he was asked for.\u00a0 But there were times, like at the start when he was going out to practice which was where I met him, when he seemed a little moody.\u00a0 But I genuinely think he was just rushed for time and wanted to focus on the game.\u00a0 He smiled and waved at us in-between shots though and I think he tries so hard to do the right thing.\u00a0 He wanted to be professional on the course but at the same time I think he realizes he is hugely famous now and that part of that is pictures and autographs.\u00a0 He is quite reserved though I\u2019d say yes, down to earth normal guy.\u00a0 And observing him with the other guys between shots he looked so relaxed and happy and totally at ease.\u00a0 I could just stare at him like that for hours.\u00a0 I did stare at him like that for hours.”<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Alisa: “Is Jamie better at putting or teeing off?”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

@ScarletteDrake:<\/strong>“Despite the eagle at the 18th<\/sup>\u00a0on the first day \u2013 I\u2019d say teeing off.\u00a0 If only because his swing and his body as it moves is so graceful and beautiful to watch in motion. I swear it\u2019s like art.\u00a0 I\u2019m all hot again.”<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Holly: “If you could name one thing specifically, what would you say was the absolute best part about meeting Jamie at the ADL?”<\/strong><\/div>\n

@ScarletteDrake:<\/strong>“Just seeing him in the flesh.\u00a0 He is truly the most beautiful thing I\u2019ve ever seen.\u00a0 Though he makes me feel unworthy. I feel so privileged to have seen him and talked to him.\u00a0 He\u2019s perfection in every way.”<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Holly:\u00a0“Was this your first time meeting Jamie? If so, what was the most memorable part about your encounter with him?”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

@ScarletteDrake:<\/strong>“No it isn\u2019t. *Hides* I met him last year and then again in New York.\u00a0 I don\u2019t have one memorable part.\u00a0 All of it will stay in my memory forever.” \u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Holly: “How did you prepare for this experience? Were you nervous, excited, terrified? Did you lose sleep the night before?”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

@ScarletteDrake:<\/strong> “This is going to sound weird.\u00a0 I was dreading it.\u00a0 Not meeting him but the way you feel afterwards.\u00a0 So deflated and disappointed in yourself and quite frankly like trash!\u00a0 I remember that feeling from last time and I wanted to avoid it but somehow knew I wouldn\u2019t, or couldn\u2019t rather!\u00a0 You want to say so much to him and tell him so much and I had all of these things I wanted to say. (“Congrats on the eagle yesterday!”, “Are you looking forward to The Fall?” “Can\u2019t wait for Anthropoid!”) \u00a0And guess what?\u00a0 I said none of it.\u00a0 I got out \u201cThank you so much Jamie, good luck with everything\u201d and then he was gone. Then I cried all night when I got home. Instead of feeling happy that I met him I felt silly.\u00a0 It\u2019s weird as hell and I don\u2019t know if <\/em><\/div>\n

In @ScarletteDrake’s own words:\u00a0<\/strong>“He is more beautiful in the flesh than you can ever imagine.\u00a0 I asked a few of the other girls there and they were all basically saying the same. “He\u2019s so lovely and kind with fans, isn\u2019t he? He looks better than last year doesn\u2019t he?”<\/strong> \u00a0He looked so relaxed and happy just chatting with the guys and I think he really loves playing the tournament.\u00a0 His pro partner was a bit moody and we all started to wonder if it was because Jamie was getting most of the attention.\u00a0 I feel bad about saying he was moody sometimes because he really wasn\u2019t \u2013 he was just rushed for time at the start and this is why he looks a little grumpy in some pics maybe.\u00a0 I\u2019d say that he was the most requested star there from what I could see in terms of pics and autographs and he stopped for every single one.\u00a0 Might be worth adding that the officials at the tournament were amazing.\u00a0 So helpful and friendly and allowed us to get really close to him while at the same time being respectful in asking us to be quiet during shots. Also but not lastly, he is SO graceful. I don’t know how I never noticed it before. But he walks so tall and holds himself so well, broad shoulders and straight back and his<\/em> Dornan Walk<\/strong> has been perfected into something magical. He moves fluidly and gracefully and is almost hypnotic.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
