DORNAN MAKES CO-ANTRIM WOMAN’S DREAM COME TRUE

January 27th, 2016 will be a day that Heather Mack will remember for the rest of her life. It was Heather’s wish to one day meet, who she enthusiastically calls ‘her man’, The Fall and Fifty Shades of Grey star, Jamie Dornan. Heather, who is a trainee at Stepping Stones Northern Ireland, who’s goal is to encourage training towards employment for those with a learning disability, was all starry-eyed when the day came that she finally met ‘her man.’

But how did this all happen? Ciara Brennan, who works for Stepping Stones NI, was presented with the challenging opportunity by her boss to make it all happen. Without hesitation, Ciara made it her mission to ensure that Heather got her wish. She posted to her own Facebook profile, asking to help spread Heather’s wish and her plea did not go unnoticed. With more than 450 shares, the word had most definitely gotten around.

And so the day came to meet Jamie, and Heather and Ciara both braved the cool Northern Ireland air awaiting. Jamie did not disappoint. Dornan, without hesitation, took some time off of the set of The Fall on Wednesday to meet, speak with and have a few laughs with Heather. They exchanged pleasantries, spoke about Heather’s Pink Elephant Cards, snapped some pictures and Jamie even signed some paraphernalia including T-shirts, pictures and an adult colouring book where Dornan is the subject. Heather also gifted Jamie and wife Amelia a picture frame for their new baby due to arrive in the next couple of weeks. The picture frame was made by trainees at Stepping Stones no guild commended Picture Framing Service, which we’re sure is a stunning piece of work.

Other cast members of The Fall including Niamh McGrady and John Lynch, also made an appearance and took some time to snap some photos with Heather as well. Talk about a star-studded afternoon!

The story has received a lot of attention from local news outlets, blog sites and fan sites and has touched Jamie fans from around the world. We’ve always known Dornan to be a kind-hearted man, but Jamie took more time with Heather than us as fans have ever seen. His smile was genuine, his intentions were pure and his heart was gold.

JAMIE AND HIS GENEROUS HEART

Jamie has donated two more signed copies of Fifty Shades of Grey to the SCUT Charity Concert and Auction, being held on December 6th, 2015.  The charity is very similar to the Kronospan Foundation Annual Charity Ball, which Jamie recently donated a signed copy of Fifty Shades of Grey and a signed GREY tie for auction, which raised 5,000 romanian lei (1136 euro).  Jim Dornan sent the items to long time friend and colleague Dr. Haydn Deane, who was the host band at the Kronospan Foundation Charity Event. Fantastic, right?! It gets even better.

We’ve been told by Dr. Deane himself that the SCUT Charity Concert and Auction is a “smaller charity and more in need of donations and it is also run as an Irish Romanian joint venture with the Irish organizers situated just outside Holywood, close to Jamie’s home.”  Jamie has so generously signed and donated two copies of Fifty Shades of Grey which will be available for auction at the event on December 6th, 2015.

Jamie and dad Jim have always been actively involved in supporting awareness for pancreatic cancer. Today marks 2015’s day of awareness. Jamie Dornan recently donated signed items for an auction at The Kronospan Foundation Annual Charity Ball last Friday, November 6, 2015. The event was held at Hotel Mercur, Lancrum.

‪Haydn Deane, part of the host band, was sent a signed copy of the Fifty Shades book & a signed silver tie by friend ‪Jim Dornan, which raised over 1000€ alone.

Jamie has recently advocated support for IHEARTCASTLETOWARD – A campaign which is now calling for the “present owner of Castle Toward, Argyll & Bute Council, to protect this treasured Scottish icon from development. The goal is to seek to work together to restore the Castle, to be the flourishing hub for youth arts and sport that it once was.”
